The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Gaston held its annual fundraising event, Dancing for Future Stars on March 14, 2015 at the Gaston Country Club.

Now in its sixth year, the event pairs local celebrities with professional dancers to compete for charity. Judges select the top prize winner by considering the quality of the dance and the amount of money the dancer raises. In 2014, the event raised $300,000. This year’s event, raised over $300,000. The funds serve nearly 1,500 children and teenagers through afterschool and summer membership programs. They also support community outreach.

Spectrum’s Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Hoppy Sell was one of the eight local celebrity dancers competing in this year’s event to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club. Last year, Spectrum’s President & CEO, David Ratchford was a contestant and also received 10 out of 10 Stars in both dances.
